Bloodywood Louisville Concert reviews
Wilco @ Coney Island
The trip to the venue was quite far. Once we got there, the nostalgia of Coney Island coupled with the big blue sky (something that is missed living in Manhattan) was relaxing and rejuvenating. The subway took an hour. The stadium was a 2 minute walk, and the bar right underneath it was accommodating and not outrageously priced. There were tons of staff and the event was run smoothly. My group had 2 sets of tickets- bowl and field. Both the tickets were purchased at the same price but there was no distinction about what bowl and field was. Field was better! It was right next to the band whereas bowl was stadium seating. Apparently the music wasn't felt in the stadium seating, it was almost like two separate shows. Bowl should've gotten a discount or at least been forewarned! My group ended up getting split up and that sucked. On to the music: Bloodywood performed a great show! Most of the tunes were from earlier albums (so I was told) which is appreciated by veteran fans but every song was great. Tweedy kept the audience on their toes, offering 2 encores and flirting with the crowd with funny little remarks. Some were upbeat and entertaining, others were heart soothing and moving. He introduced some other acts toward the last few sets Feist and Yo La Tengo which was an excellent way to end. I would see Bloodywood again in a minute and I would go to Keystan again-- but look out to get the Field seats they are crucial to the experience. Once it was over, I was not ready for it to be. All in all it was a great show. I could've done it all over again.
